Verify the wood-work unlock order

Open the Building technology tree and follow this early wood-work example:

1. Research The Concept of Wood in the Building technology tree. ^[3]
2. Unlock Chopping and Woodworking I separately. These nodes unlock the Chopping Spot and Woodworking Workbench I. ^{[4] [5] [6]}
3. Place the Chopping Spot and Workbench near the yard wood stockpile when convenient, as shown in one gameplay route. Use the green preview to check each placement; this is an example layout, not a required or optimal arrangement. ^{[1] [2]}

Place a station with the preview

Move the station preview until its footprint is green, then press Mouse0 to build. Green cells are valid; red cells are blocked. Press R to rotate or Esc to leave placement mode. If the preview stays red, move or rotate the station before confirming. Use the controls shown by your platform if they differ. ^[2]

Find the Kitchen Counter and Oven

Enter the house and open its interior build menu: the Kitchen Counter and Oven are placed from this indoor area. ^[2] When the oven technology becomes available, continue with Kitchen Oven II; the fuel guide covers the shed that supplies its queue.
